Requirements

The WorldTeach/Venezuela program is open to highly skilled classically-trained instrumentalists who have graduated from conservatories or schools of music and are interested in a meaningful volunteer experience working with talented high school musicians through the "El Sistema" program.  Prior teaching or coaching experience is not required.  Applicants with Spanish language skills are preferred; however
Spanish lessons will be provided in-country.

Successful volunteers will be mature and resourceful, and will exhibit commitment to public service and community participation.  It is essential that volunteers be flexible and open-minded, capable of adapting to new situations, and able to provide sensitive leadership with various ages and groups.  A positive attitude, even in frustrating or difficult circumstances, is vital.
